Gr 3-5-This collection of feline vignettes represents tales from many parts of the world and from many different eras. Some of the short stories are more interesting than others. While each one stands alone, none is outstanding. Some of the selections seem to be original works while others have folkloric elements. Unfortunately, sources are not given for any of the stories. The black-and-white pen-and-ink drawings may not capture the interest of young audiences today. Cat fans may find the book fascinating, but for a general audience it is not an important acquisition.
