Though the three 50 Shades books and its box set still took the top four spots for the week ending July 8 by a huge margin (the #5 book was The Litigators by John Grisham, which was 3,000 copies behind the #4 box set), all four titles saw slower sales at the outlets tracked by Nielsen BookScan. From the previous week, Fifty Shades of Grey decreased 12%; Fifty Shades Darker decreased 5%; Fifty Shades Freed decreased 3%; and the box set fell 16%.
For the first book in the series, its weekly sales total was the lowest it has been since the week ending April 22.
