Gibbs Smith Publishers will co-publish and exclusively distribute the North American version of Anorak Magazine, published five times a year by the Anorak Press in Great Britain and aimed at children six to 12. Suzanne Gibbs Taylor, Gibbs Smith’s associate publisher and creative director, calls Anorak a "bookazine"--though in the case of Anorak, "more book than magazine." The issues, which will contain no advertising, will be 64 pages on topics like fashion, culture, science, sports, and food.

Gibbs Smith takes over the copublishing role September 1 and Taylor said the two companies are working on other products.
