Paulette Bourgeois caught up with her longtime friend Franklin, who talked about his life in Woodland, his pals, and the rewards of being Franklin.
Paulette: Franklin, what’s your favorite part of being you?
Franklin: Well, I get to share my adventures with kids all over the world. I have friends in Canada, China, Costa Rica, and Chile—and those are just the countries that start with a C!
Paulette: And of course there’s W and all your friends in Woodland.
Franklin: They’re the best! Even when someone is grumpy or sad or feeling bad, we pull together as a team. We care about each other and everything around us.
Paulette: What kinds of things do you like to do best?
Franklin: I like to do so many things! I like reading (mysteries are my favorite), playing hockey, finding clues, and building spaceships. Most of all, I like eating fly pie.
Paulette: Franklin, have you noticed that you’re the only one among your friends with a name?
Franklin: Well, there’s Beaver and Bear and Fox and Goose and Rabbit and Snail. Hey... you’re right! In that case, I should be Turtle. That’s funny.
Paulette: That’s because, Franklin, you are one of a kind. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
