Todd Doughty Promoted to Deputy Publisher at KDPG
Todd Doughty has been promoted to deputy publisher, in addition to his role as SVP of publicity and communications, at Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group. He reports to Maya Mavjee, KDPG preisdent and publisher. In the expanded role, Doughty will overseeing the subsidiary rights group at KDPG, with Suzanne Smith now reporting to Doughty alongside Michiko Clark, Michael Goldsmith, and Erinn Hartman.
Doughty joined Random House more than 25 years ago and spent 16 years overseeing publicity at Doubleday before transitioning to his current role in 2021. Per Mavjee, in a letter to staff announcing the promotion, he recently “ led the creation of a newly unified publicity department for KDPG, collaborating with the remarkable imprint directors and their amazing teams to build dynamic, results-driven campaigns that introduce our authors and their work to new audiences.”
