Lori Benton has been named v-p and publisher of Orchard Books, Scholastic Press picture books, Cartwheel, and Scholastic Audio, as of January 15. Previously, she was v-p, digital and audio, library publishing, and has held a number of positions since joining Scholastic in 2011.
Liza Baker, currently v-p and publisher of Orchard Books, Scholastic Press picture books, Cartwheel, Acorn, and Branches, is stepping back and taking a position as publisher at large. She will continue to work with a few key authors and illustrators.
In other organizational shifts, Katie Carella, editorial director of Acorn and Branches, will now report to Debra Dorfman, v-p and publisher, global licensing brands and media. Netta Rabin, v-p, publisher, and creative director of Klutz, and her team will also report to Dorfman.
