Four international publishing consultants have formed Alpine Global Collective, a Geneva-based consulting group. The consultancy aims to provide publishing industry clients with cross-border expertise and market knowledge.

The consortium emerged from discussions between Cameron Drew, former director of global content acquisition at Rakuten Kobo, and Carlo Carrenho, audio ambassador at the 2023 and 2024 Frankfurt Book Fairs, before expanding to include Marcus Stober and Camila Silfvenius.

"The publishing and content industry has become increasingly global, yet the nuances of local markets remain crucial," Carrenho said in a statement. "Through the Collective, we can offer clients unprecedented insights into emerging opportunities in audiobooks and digital content across the globe, while drawing on our partners' expertise in other regions and specialties."

The group's structure allows clients to access regional expertise across multiple markets. "Traditional consulting models often face limitations in time zones, geography, and specialized knowledge," Drew added. "By working as a unified team, we can provide clients with seamless access to expertise across multiple markets and sectors, particularly in the content and digital spaces."

Silfvenius, who previously held leadership positions at Bonnier, Storytel, and Nextory, will contribute expertise in the Nordic publishing market, which she said "has unique characteristics and opportunities."

The consortium's services include strategic advisory, content strategy, business intelligence, and international growth consulting. Stober, who has extensive experience in France and Ukraine and focuses on European business development and government affairs, said that the Geneva location was key.

"It provides us with a strong foundation in one of the world's key business hubs," he said. "This strategic location, combined with our members' diverse expertise, allows us to offer unparalleled support for cross-border initiatives and regulatory navigation."
