A far-fetched but intriguing premise powers the latest paranormal romance from the author of Second Time Around. When heart patient Jenna Elliot's husband, Paul, dies in a car crash, Jenna receives his transplanted heart and, with it, a psychic connection to her late husband. Not only is she drawn to investigate the unusual circumstances surrounding his death, but she feels compelled to travel to a town in Texas, where she discovers Mitch Elliot--the twin brother Paul never told her about--and an old mystery concerning the murder of the twins' parents. This promising situation becomes static, however, as the characters visit and revisit the same emotional conflicts. All the while, Paul's heart conveniently reveals the necessary clues to them, bit by bit. Although fans will enjoy the complex characters and unusual plot, the story quickly loses momentum. (June)
