Dale Evans Rogers: Rainbow on a Hard Trail

For many years, Dale Evans pranced into America's living rooms at the side of her cowboy husband, Roy Rogers. In 1953, Evans Rogers wrote a bestselling book, Angel Unaware, in which she told of the ways that her deep faith bolstered her during the illness and death of her two-year-old daughter from mumps and brain fever. In this book, she recounts the ways that God's love and grace supported her when two of her other children died tragic deaths. She also tells the story of her early years in Hollywood and the challenges she faced there as she tried to balance her faith with her desire to be a film star. In 1992, the author suffered a heart attack, from which she quickly recovered. Four years later, though, she suffered a stroke that forced her to cut back on her previously busy and vibrant life. And in July 1998, her beloved husband, Roy, died. As she retells the stories of these sad events, Evans Rogers praises God's mercy and love:.
