Dinosaurs Travel: A Guide for Families on the Go
Marc Tolon Brown, Laurene Krasny Brown, Lauersen. Joy Street Books, $13.95 (32pp) ISBN 978-0-316-11076-1
The green dinosaurs of Dinosaurs Divorce are backthis time to illustrate the joys of traveling. ``Every time you leave home,'' says the narrator, ``whether to travel around the world, or around the block, get ready for an adventure!'' Broadening the definition of travel to include ``wherever you're headed,'' the authors include advice about walking and skateboarding in addition to the traditional trips by car, boat or train. Some children may find the particularities confusing (there won't be an elephant ride or a surfboard on every vacation), but the general advice given is cheerful and sound. Brown's detailed drawings, as usual, bring a zestful humor to the straightforward text, as dinosaurs pack their Tyrannosaurus Toothpaste, fly above the clouds and, when they get home, ``dream about where to travel next!'' Ages 4-8. (September)
