This Little Piggy
Susan Hellard. Putnam Publishing Group, $11.95 (24pp) ISBN 978-0-399-21625-1
ATMs (Automatic Teller Machines) are among the modern touches found in Hellard's zingy version of the old rhyme. The piggy only goes to market after getting some cash, then heads into ``Oinko,'' a store that allows neither dogs nor people. A male pig ``stays home,'' to cook dinner, and the pig who wee-wee-wees all the way home is disgruntled about his lack of desserts. Hellard extends the rhyme with new verses that are less than adept; still, there are lift-up flaps and enough antics to keep any toddler familiar with the game happy. Ages 3-8. (Apr.)
