Mistress No More

In this dramatic story of friendship and betrayal, three wives cope with the fallout from a letter their ex-friend, Jessa Bell, sent in Message from a Mistress, boasting that she was having an affair with one of the husbands. Unsure of their men, the three women let their marriages crumble, but eventually have to realize that the problem isn't Jessa's malice but their own insecurity. After the guilty husband is identified, Jessa plots to further destroy her former friends by revealing all their secrets, while they band together to rebuild their lives. Though much of the tale is as heavy-handed as naming the villain "Jezebel," Bryant's loyal audience will love the generous doses of passionate sex, glamour, and revenge. (June)
