A Catered Cat Wedding: A Mystery with Recipes

Crawford’s amusing 14th mystery with recipes (after 2017’s Catered Costume Party) finds sisters Bernie and Libby Simmons catering a cat wedding at an estate in Westchester, N.Y., owned by wealthy and eccentric Susie Katz, who demands top-notch caviar and artisanal salmon for her human and feline guests alike. A conniving woman of few friends, Suzie invites her rivals and enemies to witness the glamorous union between two Russian blues, but chaos ensues when she opens a mysterious package filled with live mice. Once Bernie and Libby retrieve all of Susie’s cats from the predatory chase, they come across her dead body in her office, a letter opener stuck in her throat. After accidentally tampering with evidence, the sisters have one week to prove their innocence and find the killer. With the help of their retired police chief father and their boyfriends, Bernie and Libby confront several suspects, but not without getting into some dangerous situations.
