What prompted your idea for such an imprint?
I thought of the amazing women who have guided my own faith journey. I felt a need to carve out more of a designated space where women could really share their stories. A lot of women are afraid of stepping into what God is calling them to do. They’re sitting in the shadows because they’re afraid they don’t know the Bible enough, or they just don’t feel equipped. My inspiration was Queen Esther, who really stepped into her calling to save her people.
What do you want the imprint to accomplish?
We want to create books and resources that instill courageous faith in women, so that we’re all stepping into who God created us to be. And what we created is not just an imprint; we created a community with all kinds of resources like online Bible studies and book clubs and a blog where we have recruited some amazing female writers who can platform their stories. Some of them have evolved into having books published and some aspire to it. But I wanted to create more space for women to share their stories because not everyone can be traditionally published.
What’s next for Esther Press?
My idea is just to grow, to continue to find great voices that are going to speak to women and speak truth to women. We had our first live event last year, the Esther Conference, to encourage women in being courageous in faith. My dream is to do more.
