This month, Michelle Argyle at Melissa Williams Design reimagines the cover of The Dreaming Road by Elizabeth Moore, who praised the new cover, saying, “It perfectly depicts someone walking away... to eternal life.”
Design Tip #1: Adding a tagline to this cover really helps bring it together and gets the reader asking questions and wondering about the book.
Design Tip #2: Adding a spatter texture over the image of the woman on the beach gives the cover some more depth and ties into the starry texture in the title.
Design Tip #3: This cover needs to convey a sense of heavenly grace and potential. A beautiful ocean sunrise achieves this. The font for the word Dreaming also gives the cover a more carefree feel than the original.
Design Tip #4: The original cover is a great concept, but it’s a little confusing with the two faces. I change that by focusing on a solitary figure.
