Design Note 1: The carefree sketches behind the two characters convey wealth and travel—something I felt was missing on the original.
Design Note 2: I created an off-kilter feel in order to keep a sense of fun and excitement for this raucous adventure story. Notice the slanting lines and placement of the graphics.
Design Note 3: It’s always fun to experiment with a nontraditional color palette. Here, the bright greenish yellow helps draw the eye to the title first and contrasts nicely with the classic blues and red.
Design Note 4: I loved the eye-catching red graphic on the original cover and decided to pull that through to this redesign.
