Teacher turned filmmaker Nick Brooks recently set out on a book tour across the U.S., spotlighting his YA debut novel Promise Boys. The YA thriller centers on JB, Ramon, and Trey, troubled students at an elite Washington private school, as they investigate the death of their principle to clear their names. On January 29, Brooks kicked off his tour in Los Angeles at B&N at The Grove. Brooks appeared in conversation with fellow author George M. Johnson and signed copies of his book for attendees. Here, Brooks autographs books with his daughter in tow.
Brooks visited his Washington, D.C. alma mater, Banneker High School, on January 31, where he spoke with students about Promise Boys and passed out copies of the book.

An Open Book Foundation partnered with Brooks to make school visits to Washington, D.C., schools H.D. Woodson High School and Eastern High School also on February 1.
