This week we take a look at an app based on a children’s book about dinosaurs and one that let kids dress princesses up.

Background: Oceanhouse has recently set up a licensing agreement with Soundprints, publishers of the Smithsonian Institution children's book series for young readers. This app is the first release, based on the Soundprints book written by Dawn Bentley and illustrated by Karen Carr.

Features: The app has three options: Auto Play (geared toward younger readers), which plays like a movie by automatically reading and turning pages; Read to Me, which allows users to listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read; and Read It Myself, which lets users read the book in its traditional format. There is original artwork, picture/word association, word highlighting, professional audio narration, and scene-by-scene custom background audio.
