‘Wrinkle’ Featured on ‘Jeopardy!’

It’s currently the College Championship on the game show Jeopardy!, and Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time was featured in last night’s episode. Contest Carrie Tian, a freshman at Harvard, supplied the correct question for the following clue: “Rejected by 26 publishers, this beloved classic by Madeleine L’Engle is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012.” Macmillan is currently in the middle-of a year-long anniversary celebration for the book, including new hardcover and paperback editions of the book with added content, a graphic novel by Hope Larsen, and an author-studded event at Symphony Space in New York City on February 11.

Little, Brown Hosts Picture Book Preview

Last Thursday, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers held its annual Picture Book Media Event, giving attendees a sneak peek at spring and summer picture books from Holly Hobbie, Chris Gall, Mary Ann Hoberman, and several others. Marc Brown was the special guest at the event, and he spoke about the new style of artwork he used in his forthcoming book, If All the Animals Came Inside (Apr.), written by Eric Pinder. Here, Brown is flanked by his editor, LBYR editor-in-chief Liza Baker (l.), and senior executive editor Andrea Spooner.

Clifford, on Stages Big and Small

Clifford creator Norman Bridwell was recently in Boston to attend a performance of “Clifford The Big Red Dog LIVE! A BIG Family Musical” at the Wilbur Boston Theatre. Bridwell (l.) is seen here with the cast of the show, which is produced by Mills Entertainment in conjunction with Scholastic, and which will visit more than 50 cities. Butterworth Honored by Farm Bureau

Author Chris Butterworth’s picture book How Did That Get in My Lunchbox?: The Story of Food, illustrated by Lucia Gaggiotti(Candlewick, Jan.) was honored as Book of the Year by the American Farm Bureau Federation at its annual meeting in Honolulu.
