Aladdin, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, has revealed the cover and title for the 12th book in Rachel Renée Russell’s bestselling Dork Diaries series: Tales from a Not-So-Secret Crush Catastrophe will be released on October 17.
The illustrated middle grade series picks up as Nikki counts down to the end of the school year, and is questioning how she’ll spend her summer. Nikki faces a bigger dilemma when she develops a crush on a new classmate.
Liesa Abrams, associate editorial director of Aladdin, told PW, “One of the most exciting parts of seeing the Dork Diaries series grow is getting a glimpse at the community of its young fans. The kids reading these books are quick to compare themselves and their friends to Nikki and her best friends, and part of their enjoyment of the books clearly comes out of shared reading and reactions.” Abrams added, “We know that the fans will really go wild when they see a new crush enter Nikki's life for the first time!”
There are currently 35 million Dork Diaries titles in print worldwide.
