This September and October, author Max Brallier set out on a seven-city tour, visiting schools and stores across the country for the launch of the fourth book in his bestselling middle-grade graphic novel series, The Last Kids on Earth. Released on September 18, The Last Kids on Earth and the Cosmic Beyond, illustrated by Douglas Holgate (Viking), continues the adventures of hero Jack Sullivan in the Monster Apocalypse.

New books on the horizon include The Last Kids on Earth Survival Guide, due out in summer 2019, followed by The Last Kids on Earth #5 in fall 2019. Viking has also announced the acquisition of The Last Kids on Earth books #6 and #7, scheduled for fall 2020 and fall 2021, respectively. To date, there are more than two million books in print; a Netflix show is due out in 2019.

More than 3,000 kids attended events over the course of Brallier’s two-week tour. Penguin also created a pre-order campaign, giving one winner the chance to be flown to New York to attend New York Comic Con and have lunch with Brallier. We’ve gathered a selection of highlights from the book tour.
