Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams Children’s Books, has announced the title and cover of the 16th installment in Jeff Kinney’s global bestselling series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Big Shot will be simultaneously published in 28 countries worldwide in hardcover and ebook format on October 26.
Following his disastrous field day competition at school, Greg Heffley decides that he and sports don’t mix. But when his mother encourages him to give sports another go, Greg decides to try out for baseball and unexpectedly makes the cut—on the worst team.
Charles Kochman, editorial director at Abrams and Kinney’s longtime editor, will edit Big Shot.
Big Shot will be part of a drive-through-style book tour that Kinney produced with Abrams for his three previous books, most recently his global bestseller Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories, the third book in the Wimpy Kid spin-off Awesome Friendly Kid series.
In addition, the book that started it all will come to life on screen this holiday season in the all-new animated adventure, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which will stream on Disney+.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are published in 79 editions in 65 languages and have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide since the series’ launch in 2007.
