Penguin Young Readers has announced a forthcoming picture book collaboration from Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Lee Curtis and illustrator Laura Cornell. Just One More Sleep: All Good Things Come to Those Who Wait… and Wait… and Wait is scheduled for publication early next year from Philomel Books.
“The passage of time, how children relate to waiting, and patience are the themes at play in my newest book for children,” Curtis said in a statement. Just One More Sleep considers the difficulty of delayed gratification for children and aims to show why waiting can be a valuable experience.
Curtis and Cornell have been picture book collaborators for more than 20 years, publishing books such as My Brave Year of Firsts, When I Was Little, Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day, and more.
“Working with Jamie again is the gift that keeps on giving!” Cornell said. “I get to play with her words and big important thoughts once again and work with our new partner Penguin Random House to bring the book to life.”
Readers will have to learn the virtues of patience and wait till next year, since the book will be published on January 16, 2024.
