Most authors would hope for good weather when embarking on a book tour, but not Diary of a Wimpy Kid creator Jeff Kinney. In keeping with the winter theme of Cabin Fever, the forthcoming sixth book in his bestselling series, the six events on the Wimpy Kid Rolling Blizzard tour will feature on-the-spot snowstorms thanks to a snow-making truck that will also be making the trip. “We thought it would be a lot of fun to create an instant blizzard at our big stops,” said Kinney in a statement. “We’re especially excited to visit places where the kids have never seen snow!”
The tour kicks off on the book’s release date, November 15, at Barnes & Noble in Cherry Hill, N.J., and continues on to Politics & Prose in Washington, D.C.; bggb books in Richmond, Va.; Park Road Books in Charlotte, N.C.; Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, Ga.; and finally the Miami Book Festival on Sunday, November 20. Kinney will also appear at a (snow-free) event at the Books-A-Million store in Kissimmee, Fla. With the release of Cabin Fever there will be more than 58 million copies of the Wimpy Kid books in print in North America.
