Chef Gino Campagna presented his debut cookbook, Chef Gino’s Taste Test Challenge (Rodale Kids) at the Mission Viejo, Calif., library with A Whale of a Tale bookstore in Irvine on November 2. The event included a hands-on cooking demonstration from the celebrity chef and cooking teacher.
You Name It
Debut author Liara Tamani enjoyed a festive launch for her novel, Calling My Name (Greenwillow), on October 28. The event was held at Blue Willow Books in Houston, and drew a full house of attendees. Tamani spoke about her novel while guests enjoyed cupcakes and wine designed and themed after the book.
Making History
Elizabeth Lorayne (r.) celebrated the launch of her book, The Historical Heroines Coloring Book: Pioneering Women in Science from the 18th and 19th Centuries, at Jabberwocky Bookshop in Newburyport, Mass., on October 20. Joining Lorayne was Sue Little, Jabberwocky’s owner.
Trick or Troll!
Author Lise Lunge-Larsen (l.) and illustrator Kari Vick recently signed copies of their new picture book, Seven Ways to Trick a Troll (University of Minnesota Press), during the second North Shore Readers & Writers Festival, which was held at various venues throughout Grand Marais, Minn., from October 2–5.
