San Francisco publisher Chronicle Books is partnering with Trustbridge Global Media to launch Chronicle Bridge, a new imprint that will publish and distribute Chinese-language editions of selected Chronicle children’s books in China.
The new imprint will be launched during the Beijing International Book Fair, which opens on August 22.
The Chronicle Bridge imprint will debut with five titles this August and publish 20 titles the first year. The imprint will begin with such bestselling Chronicle titles as Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site and Steam Train, Dream Train. Chronicle Bridge will also acquire the Chinese license for the popular chapter book series Ivy & Bean.
Trustbridge Global Media is an international investment firm focused on the development and distribution of entertainment and educational content in global markets. In 2016 Trustbridge acquired U.S. children's book publisher Holiday House.
Citing TGM’s “deep understanding of the Chinese book market,” Chronicle Books president Tyrrell Mahoney called the new venture “a significant milestone in developing our global brand presence.”
