This holiday season brings a new installment in author Drew Daywalt and illustrator Oliver Jeffers’s bestselling picture book series, The Crayons’ Christmas (Penguin Workshop, Oct.). To commemorate the occasion, Esteban the Magnificent, one of the stars of the book, took a tour of independent bookstores, visiting story times, school events, and a Nordic-inspired JuleFest. Booksellers gave away Crayons Christmas ornaments and shared activities from holiday card making to cookie baking. We’ve gathered a selection of highlights from festivities.
