Mary Wilcox, currently v-p and director of publishing for the Clarion Group at HarperCollins Children's Books, will be leaving the company on August 25. The news came in a memo from HCCB head Suzanne Murphy.
Wilcox joined HMH in 2005 from HarperFestival, where she had been editorial director. In 2010 she was promoted to v-p and editorial director of Houghton Mifflin Books for Children, and in 2021, when HarperCollins acquired HMH, the young readers division was restructured as the Clarion Group, and Wilcox was named v-p and publishing director. Authors she has worked with at Clarion include Chris Van Allsburg, Lois Lowry, and Kwame Alexander, and the numerous brands and programs she oversees include Little Blue Truck, the Click graphic novel series, and Curious George.
The Clarion Group, which includes the Clarion, Versify, and Allida imprints, will now report to Nancy Inteli, v-p and director of publishing, who also oversees Harper’s picture book and programs group.
