Meet Me at the Bookstore

‘Wildly’ Good Times

Married author-illustrator duo John (l.) and Hayley Rocco attended a launch event at Little City Books in Hoboken, N.J., on April 6 for the release of their picture book Wild Places (Putnam). The picture book highlights the life and work of naturalist David Attenborough. The pair gave a reading and signed copies of their book.


A Whole New World

On April 2, Malaprop’s Bookstore in Asheville, N.C., hosted a launch event for F.T. Lukens (l.) to celebrate the release of their YA fantasy Otherworldly (S&S/McElderry). Lukens was joined by author Beth Revis (r.) for a conversation about writing romantasy and offering queer representation in their books. The event closed with a book signing.


A Pigeon at PLA

At the recent Public Library Association conference in Columbus, Ohio, debut author-illustrator duo Britt Gondolfi (l.) and Amanda Romanick (r.) made an appearance to sign copies of their forthcoming picture book Look Up!: Fontaine The Pigeon Starts a Revolution (Paw Prints).


Shine Bright

Supriya Kelkar made an appearance on April 7 at Schuler Books in West Bloomfield, Mich., for the launch of her debut picture book, And Yet You Shine: The Kohinoor Diamond, Colonization, and Resistance (Candlewick). Kelkar led an interactive storytime with young readers.


A Reading and a Show

Barnes & Noble Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn, N.Y., welcomed married authors Sam Tsui (c.) and Casey Breves (l.) for the release of their debut picture book, Why Do We Sing? (HarperCollins) on April 9. The event consisted of a reading and a performance of songs from the book’s official companion album, accompanied by guitarist Dillon Kondor (r.).
