Recently, an author went on tour, a convention brought authors to Boston, and collaborators hosted storytime events.

A Hanukkah Gift

Sarah Mlynowski recently went on tour across seven states, making appearances at bookstores, schools, libraries, and festivals, to promote her debut picture book, A Dragon for Hanukkah, illustrated by Ariel Landy (Scholastic). The picture book follows Hannah, who receives a dragon and other magical items as Hanukkah gifts from her family. On December 8, Once Upon a Time Montrose, Calif. welcomed Mlynowski for an event where the author gave a storytime and signed copies of her book for guests.

All Together Now!

At the recent National Council of Teachers of English conference, educator Nancy Bo Flood and authors Torrey Maldonado, Ann Jacobus, and SD Nelson came together for a panel titled “Teaching with Books That Open Hearts, Offer Hope, and Provide Connection Around Mental Health,” sponsored by the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Pictured here (from l.) are Flood, Maldonado, SCBWI executive director Sarah Baker, Nelson, and Jacobus after their conversation.

A Brew-tiful Evening

Also in Boston for NCTE, authors Rex Ogle (l.) and Sean O’Brien paid a visit to Beacon Hill Books to sign copies of their books and enjoy a cup of tea.

To All a Good Night

Debbie S. Miller (l.) and Michelle Jing Chan (r.) made an appearance at the Fillmore Street location of Just for Fun in San Francisco on December 7 for a storytime event for their picture book Goodnight Sounds (Bloomsbury). The book celebrates the many sounds in nature that can act as a lullaby for sleepy readers. After, the collaborators signed stock at the store.
