The gift-buying season is upon us. Sales of adult nonfiction books jumped 44% in the week ended Dec. 8, to 6.6 million units, from 4.6 million the week prior. But whereas most big sales spikes can be attributed to a blockbuster debut or two, all but two of the movers and shakers in the first week of December were books that have been out for a month or more. Here’s a ranking of the 10 nonfiction books with the biggest week-over-week increase.
