The Hachette Book Group haslaunched a series of social media sites—adding accounts on Twitter and Facebook to the BlogTalkRadio site already up and running—for its corporate communications office.
Sophie Cottrell, Hachette BookGroup v-p and communications director, said that while Hachette's imprints havelong been using social media to communicate with readers, the new sites onTwitter and Facebook have been launched to give the corporatecommunications office "a way to open up the dialogue about publishing withreaders and others in the industry." The BlogTalkRadio site was launched in 2008.
To kick off the new sites,Hachette Book Group CEO David Young and HBG senior v-p of Digital Media MajaThomas, were interviewed by book blogger and journalist Charlotte Abbot aboutthe future of book publishing and connecting with readers on the inaugural showon the Hachette BlogTalkRadio site. This is Young's and Thomas's first interview on the BlogTalkRadio site.
