Booktrack, a tool to add soundtracks to e-books, announced it has secured $3 million in Series A financing led by Sparkbox Ventures, and has launched a dedicated education platform.
Booktrack Classroom will give students free access to soundtracked e-books, as well as the ability to create Booktrack titles by matching their own stories to a library of over 20,000 free-to-use music and ambient audio tracks. Students can then share their published Booktracks with classmates to read with the customized audio. The app is available in the Apple App Store, Google Play and Google Chrome Store.
Since the launch of Booktrack Studio five months ago, which opened up the platform to self-published authors, 300,000 users have created more than 3,600 projects in 30 different languages, according to Booktrack.
