Following on its deal with the John Lewis retail chain announced earlier this week, Barnes & Noble announced partnerships with three major British book retailers to sell its suite of Nook e-ink digital readers in physical stores and online. Beginning in October, B&N will offer its digital readers for sale through the multi-channel chain retailer Argosy, academic retailer Blackwell’s and independent bookstore chain Foyles.
Last week B&N announced plans to sell the Nook Simple Touch and Simple Touch with Glowlight in the U.K. through a new B&N online storefront (www.nook.co.uk) aimed at the British market. Starting in October the Nook e-ink devices will be available in 700 Argos stores across the U.K., Blackwell’s serves 55 major British universities and Foyles will offer the devices in its six stores located in London and Bristol. All of these retailer partners will sell the devices in their physical store locations as well as through their online storefronts.
