Veteran editor Niels Aaboe died on April 17 after a long illness. He was 65.
After graduating from Syracuse University, Aaboe began a long career in publishing, culminating at Rowman & Littlefield. At R&L, Aaboe began as an executive editor for political science and history books before moving to Lyons Press, one of R&L’s trade imprints, where he oversaw the sports list and served as series editor for Skyhorse Publishing’s Little Red Book series.
“Niels brought his great intelligence and learning to bear on his work,” R&L said in a statement. “He was a kind and generous colleague, admired and well-liked by all.”
