The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association announced the winners of its 2011 Christian Book Awards last night at a banquet kicking off its Executive Leadership Summit in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Christian Book of the Year Award went to Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet by Eric Metaxas (Thomas Nelson), which also took the award in the non-fiction category. Other winners included Almost Heaven by Chris Fabry from Tyndale House (fiction); You Changed My Life by Max Lucado (Thomas Nelson) in the inspiration category; the HCSB Study Bible (Holman Christian Standard translation) from B&H Publishing Group in Bibles; Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary: Old Testament in Bible reference; and The Action Bible (David C. Cook) in the children’s category.

This year’s ECPA Executive Summit (May 2-4) has drawn 175 attendees for a slate of presentations on Google eBooks, using apps and mobile technology for marketing and sales, and employing social networking as an integrated branding strategy. ECPA, based in Colorado Springs, has more than 150 members.
