Consultant Sally Dedecker, who runs Sally Dedecker Enterprises, has been named BEA's director of education. In the role Dedecker will oversee the show's conference program, which entails, among other tasks, securing the speakers for the event. Dedecker will also lead the BEA Conference Advisory Board, and produce the BEA DIY Conference.
Speaking to the hire, BEA show manager Steve Rosato said Dedecker is "well established in the book industry" and noted that she is versed in various aspects of the business from sales and distribution, through to digital publishing.
Dedecker, who starts immediately, worked for Simon & Schuster and Ingram before starting her own firm. She is also on the board of the Book Industry Group.
