Crime writer Patricia Cornwell has sold two new novels featuring her character Kay Scarpetta to her longtime publishers, Putnam and Berkley. Putnam will publish the books in hardcover, and Berkley will do the paperbacks. Esther Newberg of ICM brokered the deal, for North American hardcover, paperback, and audio rights.
Putnam will publish Cornwell’s 18th Scarpetta novel, Port Mortuary, on November 30. In April 2009, Fox acquired the film rights to the Scarpetta novels, featuring Angelina Jolie as Scarpetta.
