Random House has acquired a new book by Al Gore, a yet-to-be-titled book on the political, social, and economic forces “shaping what America and the world will become in ensuing decades.” The book is the first acquisition for Jon Meacham, executive v-p, executive editor, since he joined Random earlier this year, and it is slated for release in 2012. Random House publisher Susan Kamil announced the deal from Andrew Wylie for world English, German, and Spanish languages, first serial, audio, and e-book publication rights.
Rodale published Gore’s earlier Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis, An Inconvenient Truth, and Earth in the Balance; Penguin published his The Assault on Reason.
