Amid the flurry of media surrounding the death of Elizabeth Taylor, the inevitable newly repackaged and updated books on the legendary star are already hitting the market. First out of the gate appears to be Ellis Amburn’s The Most Beautiful Woman in the World: The Obsessions, Passions and Courage of Elizabeth Taylor. Harper is releasing an e-book on March 28 and a mass market paperback edition on March 30. It originally published the bio as a Harper Entertainment hardcover in 2000. The new version has new material and addresses Taylor’s life in recent years, including her health concerns, her fervent devotion to Michael Jackson, and her work to support gay rights.

Amburn worked as a reporter-researcher at Newsweek before becoming a book editor at Putnam, where he edited Jack Kerouac, John Le Carre, William Golding, Edward Albee, and Paul Gallico. He has also written biographies of Roy Orbison, Janis Joplin, and Buddy Holly.
