Former Saturday Night Live and sitcom star Tina Fey had a huge bestseller for Hachette and HarperCollins is hoping that another one-SNL comedian with her own show can do the same for them. HC’s It Books imprint along with HarperCollinsCanada have acquired the first book from Amy Poehler, currently starring in the NBC show Parks and Recreation. The book, set for fall 2014, will be an unconventional memoir--”an illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons,” It said.
It executive editor Carrie Thornton negotiated the deal with Erin Malone and Kirby Kim of WME. HarperCollinsCanada senior editor Kate Cassaday negotiated the deal in tandem with Thornton.
