After we reported Thursday that a book by BJ Novak was drawing interest, Knopf has acquired the title. Robin Desser and Tim O'Connell bought the work from Richard Abate, a manager at 3Arts Entertainment, in an auction which, at its close, was between three houses.
The work, Abate noted, is not an essay collection, as our initial story may have indicated, but, rather, a collection of literary short stories. The book was also shopped in complete form, and not as a proposal, as Thursday's story also noted.
