Penguin's Riverhead Books imprint has acquired a book about the brothers who were recently charged with the terrorist attack in Boston. The currently untitled work, by Russian-American journalist Masha Gessen, who wrote the 2012 bestseller The Man Without a Face: The Unlikely Rise of Vladimir Putin, will, the imprint said, "explain who the brothers were, where they came from, what shaped them, and how they came to do what they appear to have done."
Gessen lives in Moscow and speaks both Russian and English. A regular contributor to a variety of publications, as well as the author of multiple books, she won the 2013 Media for Liberty Award. Riverhead acquired world English rights in the deal from Gessen's agent Elyse Cheney at Elyse Cheney Literary Associates. As for a publication date, one has not been set and a Riverhead spokesperson said that "we want [Gessen] to take as much time as she needs to do a comprehensive and excellent book."
