Food Network star Paula Deen has signed a multi-book deal with Simon & Schuster to include two new cookbooks, a book on style and the author’s first cookbook for children. David Rosenthal and Sydny Miner acquired North American rights from Janis Donnaud in conjunction with Deen’s personal representative Barry Weiner. The first cookbook, The Deen Family Cookbook, is tentatively scheduled for publication in spring 2009, and the book on style, provisionally titled Paula Deen’s Savannah Style, is projected to pub in fall 2009. This October, Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers will bring out Paula Deen’s My First Cookbook, a collection of recipes written with Martha Nesbit and designed to encourage families to cook together. My First Cookbook will include illustrations by Susan Mitchell.

S&S has been Deen’s publisher since 2002’s The Lady & Sons Just Desserts. Deen’s most recent book, Christmas with Paula Deen, spent six weeks on The New York Times’s bestseller list this past fall. Deen also published a bestselling memoir in 2007 titled Paula Deen: It Ain’t All About the Cookin’.

Deen, who owns two Georgia restaurants, hosts two shows on the Food Network, Paula’s Home Cooking, which debuted in 2002, and Paula’s Party, which premiered in 2006. Deen’s magazine, Cooking with Paula Deen, launched in 2005.
