Berkeley, Calif.-based distributor Publishers Group West is adding seven presses this fall and winter, ranging from Bone creator Jeff Smith’s Cartoon Books in Columbus, Oh., to Wise Parenting Press, a new book and audio publisher in Oakland, Calif.
Other new clients include: Breadpig, publisher of Randall Munroe’s webcomic, xkcd; Brooklyn-based Bazillion Points, which does heavy metal books including Annik Giroux’s Hellbent for Cooking; music, art, and literature publisher Verse Chorus Press in Portland, Ore.; and Tinderbox Press, publisher of Complete Price Guide to Watches.
In addition, PGW signed a U.S. and Canadian print book distribution agreement with the U.K. book and e-book publisher MP Publishing. It will make its North American debut this fall with Don’t Quit Your Day Job, edited by Sonny Brewer.
