Boston-based cookbook and parenting publisher Harvard Common Press is moving its distribution much closer to home and going with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Trade & Reference Group, headquartered just a few blocks away. Harvard will leave National Book Network at the end of May.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Harvard Common Press in physical as well as digital distribution. Harvard Common Press is one the most innovative and respected publishers of cookbooks and parenting guides in the market and the chance to expose their content to a wider audience is a plus for both companies. HCP’s strong backlist complements our own and we look forward to a long and profitable relationship,” said HMH group president Gary Gentel.

In other distribution news Seven Stories Press will leave its long-time distributor, Consortium Book Sales & Distribution, this May and move to Random House. The transition will come just before the publication of "There Are Things I Want You to Know About Stieg Larsson and Me" (laydown: June 21) by Larsson's companion, Eva Gabrielsson, which has an 80,000-copy first printing.
