Consortium Book Sales & Distribution, a member of the Perseus Books Group, signed five presses for the fall selling season. New clients include the newly formed Bilingual Readers in Madrid, Spain, which creates books for multilingual families and provides resources to broaden children’s language skills on its Web site (www.bilingualreaders.com); and Black Balloon Publishing
in Brooklyn, N.Y., which will publish two to six books a year starting in October with The Recipe Project: A Delectable Extravaganza of Food and Music, with a CD by One Ring Zero.

Other presses new to the Consortium bag are: the literary Canadian publisher Coach House Books in Toronto; London-based Pushkin Press, which specializes in translations of contemporary and classic European literature and is returning after a six-year hiatus; and Talonbooks in Vancouver, one of the best known Anglophone literary presses in Canada and the largest independent publisher of drama.

SCB Distributors added several new clients, as well, including year-old Soundcheck Books in London, England, which does books on popular music; Vision Sports Publishing, the U.K.’s leading independent sports publisher; and Kontur Publishing in Norway, which focuses on urban culture and subculture.

Innovative Logistics and Continental Sales have begun handling sales and distribution for German publisher Daab Media of Cologne and Farameh, its new collaboration with Farameh Media in New York City to give Daab better access to the special edition luxury book market.

North of the border, Thomas Allen & Son Limited has taken over Canadian distribution for children’s book publisher Albert Whitman & Company, the Park Ridge, Ill., best known for The Boxcar Children® Mysteries.
