Del Rey Hosts New York Anime Fest Party
Del Rey Manga
has announced that it will be hosting the New York Anime Festival opening party this year, in coordination with the NYAF itself. The party will take place at the Times Square location of Dave and Busters and feature a cake from the nationally famous special-effects bakery Charm City Cakes and a manga and anime raffle. Afterwards, guests are invited to a one-night-only screening of the animated film Eureka Seven — good night, sleep tight young lovers at the AMC Empire 24 Theater next to Dave and Busters. The event is open free to the public and takes place on September 24 from 5:30 — 7:30 p.m. Dave and Busters Times Square is located at 234 West 42nd Street.

‘Action Philosophers’ Collected
The complete run of the Xeric Grant winning, ALA acclaimed, Ignatz nominated humor history comic Action Philosophers will be collected for the first time in print omnibus format this November. Action Philosophers covers the lives and philosophies of philosophical greats in an irreverent, humorous fashion. The book covers subjects from the Classical era all the way through today. Jaime Hernandez Book Signing in L.A.
Jaime Hernandez
, one of the creators of the acclaimed long-running Love and Rockets comics series, will appear at Skylight Books in Los Angeles on September 12. Hernandez will be signing his book Locas II and will take part in a public discussion with writer Ben Schwartz. The event is open free to the public and will take place starting at 5 p.m. Skylight Books is located at 1818 North Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA.

Spiegelman, Mouly Sign in New York City
Comics creators Art Spiegelman and Francoise Mouly will come to The Strand bookstore on September 10 to give a talk and sign their new book The Toon Treasury of Classic Children's Comics. The event takes place from 7 - 8 p.m. and is open free of charge to the public. The Strand is located at 828 Broadway at 12th street, New York, NY.

Ben Katchor In Concert
Cartoonist Ben Katchor, creator of the weekly comic Julius Knipl, Real Estate Photographer, as well as a frequent contributing cartoonist for the New Yorker, will be doing live readings as part of the event Ciao My Shining Star, The Songs of Mark Mulcahy.
