Wimpy Kid: Dog Days Tops Bestseller Lists
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, the fourth volume in the popular children's humor series by Jeff Kinney which is a cross between graphic novels and traditional illustrated books, has topped the USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists, as well as the New York Times children's bestseller list. The book is estimated to have sold over a million copies already and has pushed Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol off of the top slot in the adult lists, and Stepahie Meyer's Twilight series off of the top of the children's list.

LogicomixCreator Christos Appears in New York
Christos Papadimitriou, creator of the New York Times bestselling graphic novel Logicomix about the philosopher Bertrand Russell will be appearing at Idlewild Books today at 7 p.m. to promote his book. This will be his only appearace in New York on this tour. The talk and signing will be free to the public. Idlewild Books is located at 12 West 19th Street, New York, NY.

2010 MoCCA Festival Open for Business
The Museum of Comic Book and Cartoon Art is now offering exhibitor tables for their upcoming 2010 art festival. MoCCA Fest 2010 will take place on April 10-11 unlike their previous shows, which took place during the summer. MoCCA Fest 2010 will be located in New York City at the 69th Regiment Armory located at 68 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY. Tables cost $410 ($375 for museum members) for a full table and $260 ($225 for museum members) for a half table until December 31, 2009 and proceeds go to benefit the museum. Spiegelman and Mouly's Toon Treasury on NPR
National Public Radio's show Fresh Air reviewed The Toon Treasury of Classic Children’s Comics, an anthology of some of the best children's comics from the history of the comics art form, collected by Art Spiegelman and Francoise Mouly. The glowing four minute review is available online here.

Domo Creator Comes to USA
Tsuneo Goda, creator of the popular humor manga Domo, about a character called Domo that resembles a brick with fangs, is making a rare American appearance to promote the book. Goda will be appearing at Borders Books & Music in Northridge, California on October 29 starting at 7 p.m. The event is free to the general public and the store is located at 9301 Tampa Avenue.

This week Heidi MacDonald’s blog The Beat, hosted by Publishers Weekly, had the news that Nickelodeon has acquired the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for $60 million, Stephen King and Scott Snyder will team up to write a new Vertigo horror comics series together, book tour details on R. Crumb, Abby Denson and Al Columbia, a flood came for the San Francisco offices of manga publisher Viz, the Con Wars between Reed Exhibitions and Wizard over the competing NYCC and Big Apple cons goes on and Vertigo’s new Vertigo Crime line advertises on television, making the first time DC has advertised comics on television.
