Blankets creator Craig Thompson will appear at the downtown location of Midtown Comics in New York City on September 20 to discuss and sign his new book Habibi. 9/20 Rejection Collection Event at The Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco

New Yorker cartoonists Drew Dernavich, Matthew Diffee, and Zachary Kaninwill appear at the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco with a special event showcasing their new book The Rejection Collection, a collection of cartoons too edgy for The New Yorker. Ticket prices range from $10 for general admission to $85 for a special VIP package with museum membership included. The event will take place from 7 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, at the Cartoon Art Museum, located at 655 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA.

9/21 Marv Wolfman in Westminster, CA

Famed classic comics creator Marv Wolfman will appear at Comics Unlimited in Westminster, California to sign his new graphic novel Teen Titans: Games, illustrated by George Perez, on Wednesday, September 21. The event takes place from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and is free to the publics. Comics Unlimited is located at 16344 Beach Boulevard, Westminster, CA

9/23 Lovestruck Launch Party with Kevin Mellon & David Hopeless in Chicago

Lovestruck creators Kevin Mellon and David Hopeless will appear at Challengers Comics in Chicago, on September 23, to celebrate the launch oftheir new book, which they will discuss and sign.The launch party runs from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, September 23 at Challengers Comics at 1845 N. Western Avenue, 2R, Chicago, IL. The event is open free to the public.

9/30 1-800-MICE and Eye of the Majestic Creature Joint Launch Party in Berkeley, CA

Leslie Stein, creator of Eye of the Majestic Creature and Matthew Thurber, creator of 1-800-MICE will appear at The Escapist in Berkeley on September 30, to celebrate the launch oftheir respective books, which they will discuss and sign. The launch party runs from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 30 at The Escapist Comic Book Store located at 3090 Claremont Avenue. The event is open free to the public.

10/1 -10/2 Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco

On October 1-2, the 2011 Alternative Press Expo will take place in San Francisco and feature such guests as Daniel Clowes, Kate Beaton, Craig Thompson and Shannon Wheeler. One of the West Coast's biggest shows for alternative and small press comics, the Alternative Press Expo will be located at The Concourse, 635 8th street, San Francisco, CA. Hours are 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sunday. One day tickets are $10 in advance and a two day pass costs $15 in advance, children 12 and under may enter free with a paying adult.
